Weather Conditions
Again, a very difficult year for us. After a mild winter, we had a lot of wet weather over the spring time and summer. On June 28th, we had another episode of hail which destroyed a large part of our vineyard. This is the 3rd year in row that we are experiencing hail. August was just awful with a lot of rain. Luckily, we had a great September which provided ideal conditions for the harvest.
Harvest
The harvest took place under a very pleasant weather and perfect temperatures. After much stress related to the weather this year, what a relief when we saw that our grapes had a perfect healthy look, with great aromas and great sugar levels. This vintage with be VERY good or even exceptional!
Tasting
It will be limited in quantity but will be exceptional in quality. The Robe is deep and intense. The bouquet is elegant with some balanced fruits that will open up with age. The taste is rustic like a Pommard and the finish is on discreet tannins. It will be a fantastic wine to share with friends and hold in your cellar.
